Construction to begin next week on 20-story Bellevue condo tower

Mari, a new Bellevue condo project with a rooftop amenity space, is about to start construction.

A Bellevue condo tower that’s been in the works for at least six years is scheduled to start soon.

Developer Create World Real Estate Inc. will host a groundbreaking Wednesday for the 20-story Mari at 10232 NE 10th St. It will have 138 residences with commercial space.

While the overall downtown Seattle condo market is heating up, sales of new condominiums have been sluggish. Contrast that with Bellevue, where Bosa Development’s new One88 tower at 188 Bellevue Way NE sold out. Two penthouses sold for over $4.2 million and $4.6 million, according to public records.

At the two-tower Avenue Bellevue development, which is under construction about a block to the south of Mari, a penthouse sold for just over $8 million, developer Andy Lakha said this summer. At the time, 40% of the 365 condos had sold.
