Site Area: 28.2214 hectare
This master plan transforms a coastal ridgeline in Weihai into a three-part cultural and ecological destination: Hilltop Park, Hillside Town, and Oceanfront District. The project weaves native landscape preservation, wellness-focused residential neighborhoods, and vibrant marine attractions into a continuous public realm. Anchored by the symbolic Ring of Weihai and a multi-level civic center, the design blends nature, culture, and community to shape a new identity for the city’s waterfront.
A coastal ridgeline becomes a vibrant cultural and ecological destination, composed of a Hilltop Park, stepped residential terraces, and a marine-themed oceanfront. Anchored by the Ring of Weihai and layered with wellness, art, and landscape, the plan redefines waterfront living.

The master plan organizes the site into three zones: a terraced hillside anchored by cultural and community uses, a residential and senior living district, and a vibrant coastal leisure destination. Features include the Weihai Ring Observatory, a maritime museum, resort and retail clusters, and layered green spaces that connect the city to the sea.

The heart of the Weihai Jinxianding Park master plan, with its defining landmark—an observation tower that anchors the site’s central axis. Surrounding it is a terraced parkland system that transitions into urban plazas and elevated pedestrian pathways. The design blurs the boundary between built and natural environments, integrating greenery, culture, and vertical expression into a cohesive civic centerpiece.
A series of terraced green spaces cascade down toward the sea, guiding views to the waterfront while framing the vertical landmark tower at the center. A curved bridge and surrounding pavilions define the cultural and leisure heart of the district.
