Situated along the waterfront of West Seattle’s Alki Avenue, Alki Beach Residences reinterprets the organic forms of driftwood through a sculptural, mid-rise design. The building’s expressive massing and façade articulation, clad in a blend of metal and wood, respond to the fluidity of the shoreline landscape. Designed to maximize panoramic water views and enhance pedestrian engagement. Alki Beach Residences embodies a modern coastal lifestyle rooted in its natural context.

The façade features projecting balconies and crisp white aluminum frames, creating a sculptural interplay of shadow and depth. Smooth fiber-cement panels and dark brick anchor the street edge, while glass railings extend living outward toward the waterfront.

The rear elevation adopts a quieter expression with matte-finished metal panels arranged vertically. Deeply recessed balconies punctuate the form, allowing the building to settle naturally into the sloped landscape.

A palette of dark masonry, warm wood soffits, and curated plantings animates the retail frontage. Outdoor seating zones and operable storefronts blend the line between public sidewalk and private patios, fostering a lively streetscape.

The main entry at 1116 Alki is framed by copper-toned cladding and rich landscape layers. A luminous canopy, glazed storefront, and soft planting beds choreograph a welcoming and refined arrival sequence.

The garage entrance is discreetly integrated with horizontal masonry and dense plantings. Paved walkways and lush landscape beds prioritize the pedestrian experience and visually extend the façade into the public realm.

Ground-level patios are buffered by wood fencing, masonry planters, and layered plantings. The interplay of paving textures and vertical screens offers privacy while maintaining a visual connection to the street.
