Challenge: This project is located in a mixed-use building, with a parking garage below and residential apartments above. The primary challenges involved routing plumbing systems and the kitchen exhaust hood duct. As the owner’s representative, MZA coordinated closely with the landlord, MEP engineers, and the city to address these issues. Another challenge was that all millwork and fixtures were sourced from China. We worked closely with the general contractor and the overseas millwork manufacturer to resolve dimensional coordination and installation issues.

Completed entry lobby at Alderwood Mall, reflecting the built realization of the design rendering. The sculptural chandelier, warm wood millwork, round leather bench panels, and graphic patterned floor rug were all executed through close coordination with the general contractor and overseas millwork manufacturer.
