The Hunan Eco-Industrial Park proposes a new model for health-centered urbanism, where medical innovation, ecological systems, and civic life converge. Spanning more than 15 square kilometers in Xiangtan, the master plan integrates nine specialized hospitals, medical education campuses, biotechnology research zones, residential neighborhoods, and wellness-focused public space into a cohesive urban framework.
Structured as a layered network of walkable corridors, green infrastructure, and transit-oriented development, the plan prioritizes sustainability, accessibility, and human well-being at every scale. By combining traditional Chinese medicine with international healthcare systems, the project positions itself as a globally relevant prototype for integrated medical districts of the future. The urban form is calibrated to support healing, research, and daily life in balance with landscape and climate, establishing a resilient and health-driven civic environment.
